Joe Biden is the Democratic nominee for president. Biden was also vice president for eight years, alongside Barack Obama.

Biden was born in Pennsylvania. He moved to Delaware as a young man and became a lawyer. At the age of 30, he was elected to the U.S. Senate. As a senator, he helped make and vote on laws for the entire country. He served there for 36 years.

Joe Biden will turn 78 later this year. If he is elected, he will be the oldest president at the start of his term in U.S. history.

Kamala Harris, a U.S. senator from California, is running as his vice presidential candidate. Harris is the first woman of color to run for vice president on a major-party ticket in U.S. history.

Harris was born in Oakland, California, and both of her parents were immigrants. Her father is from Jamaica and her mother was from India. Harris started her career as a lawyer in California. Later she became the first woman to serve as the attorney general for California. In 2017, Harris was elected to the Senate.

Joe Biden does not think Donald Trump has done a good job as president. He says the COVID-19 crisis could have been over by now if Trump had taken it more seriously when it first started. Biden also says that he is the best person to bring Americans together.
